I pretty much only ever use this account to look at art by artists I've followed for years, but I do know that I have to make this clear: I firmly and wholeheartedly believe in the BLM movement. If you find it in you to disagree with that sentiment, nothing I have made or ever will make is for you. You do not have a place on my page: you are not welcome here.

I have been pretty active on social media -- which I'm choosing not to link -- talking about my stance on the topic. I'm also a firm believer in ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards) so I've been dedicating a lot of my time trying to show the sheer racism perpetuated by police as well as documenting police brutality as harmful to everybody in the end.

Black people are disproportionately shot and killed by police. Hate crime murder rates should also be a point of concern: many killers never serve time for their crimes. George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Philandro Castile. Ahmaud Arbery. Eric Garner. Tamir Rice. Trayvon Martin. Iyanna Dior. James Scurlock. Those are the names that I can think of off the top of my head. There are so many more.

Say Their Names.

Police have also been brutalizing many non-black participants of protests. Multiple journalists have been hit by rubber bullets, some losing their eyes. A teenage girl got shot with a rubber bullet when she was only trying to walk home. A little girl was maced. A seventy-five-year-old white man was shoved hard enough that he fell over, cracking his head open and bleeding profusely. Fifteen officers walked past as he was bleeding out. Every photo of a cop kneeling or marching with protesters is 100% propaganda. Some of them may genuinely sympathize with the movement, but they will never be a part of it so long as they remain in uniform.

I have donated $250 across five organizations in support of BLM. (I also donated $50 to the Internet Archive to try and assure that access to information is only limited by what has been saved, rather than what has been deemed appropriate by those in power.) I have signed petitions. I have shared protest resources. I urge you to do the same.

I'm opting to simply link a few Twitter threads that have petition and donation resources to make access easy for anyone who takes the time to do their part.

This isn't really all that important, but I figured I'd share this just in case anyone's getting notifications for all the edits/updates I've been making. There's a lot in TMT that's changed over the seven years I've been on dA, but I haven't been updating what's on here very well. There's a lot that's completely outdated, and so I've been trying to fix that. I really need to get on top of things and start uploading all of the backlogged art I have so I can help clear things up a bit.

Also, in updating information, I've been adding tags to most of my old deviations. So if there's anyone who's here because of that, for whatever reason, welcome! Most of the art on here is old: this account is more an archive than much else currently. I hope you'll stick around.

Anyway, that's all friends, so,,,DEUCES.

First of all, I noticed that September 19 marked my seventh year on this website! I honestly am so shocked that I kept this account alive for so long considering the plethora of times I wanted to get rid of it, but I'm glad I didn't because I've had some really nice interactions with different people and artists in the past year that I'm really thankful for.

But the bigger part of what I wanted to say is that...I've been in college for four weeks now! About seven more to go, and then the quarter is over! That means that I've been moved out and away from my hometown of eighteen years for almost two full months, which is absolutely insane to me. I don't have a job at the moment, something I'm starting to stress over a little, but I've been adulting rather well so far. I'm gonna be going home next weekend for the first time, so I'm super excited because I get to see my cat again, and I'm gonna play with my old marching band at the football game.

I'd also like to do a little bullshit self-advertisement just cause. If there's anyone reading this who's interested in either: a) a collection of dictionary poetry written by yours truly; b) a queer college romance; or c) both...Then I'd appreciate if you'd go check out my profile on Inkitt.

I was honestly only intending to upload/post/what-have-you my WIP of 80s queer Lexi Noven. However, I finally found my stack of drawings that I'd been looking for and decided, "Why not?" My current camera is pretty quality in comparison to my last one, so I'm a lot more comfortable with uploading drawings that way.

This account is totally dead normally: I come back to clear out notifications, check certain artists for new art, and fanboy over a certain artist (who is, quite honestly, becoming one of my favourites artists of all time).

HOWEVER, my gay love for Lexi Noven revived me and so I've returned...Somewhat.

Love y'all.

(Oh, and I would appreciate if you could show some love to my Danke Sehr, my queer lit on Wattpad.)

/checks watch/ Nearly a year later, we've reached the third installment of this trainwreck (that I just use as an excuse to gush over books, tbh, no one reads my journals anyway).

As a quick aside, I graduated five days ago! I start college September 4, and I'm most likely moving in July. I'm actually pretty excited. However, I'll be a full-time student and be working part-time (at least) so who knows how much I'll be on.

BUT NOW ONTO THE POINT.

I want to talk about a series that means a hell of a lot to me. That series would be The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. I picked this series up for one reason: I was told to. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it since I'm so hesitant with books that a) have a female protagonist and b) have romance. You can thank Michelle Hodkin's Mara Dyer trilogy for that, by the way. However, I knew that the series was going to be different and would be good, I just had to read it. I whole-heartedly love this series, and it's for plenty of reasons. A good portion of them are, admittedly, Ronan Niall Lynch, but I'll get into that more later.

The series is comprised of four books: The Raven Boys; The Dream Thief; Blue Lily, Lily Blue; and The Raven King. I can only describe it as urban fantasy, modern witch, prep school, small-town fiction. It's set in Virginia, mostly in a small-town called Henrietta. The five main characters are Blue Sargent, Richard Gansey, Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish, and Noah Czerny.

Blue is a psychic's daughter and a "mirror," meaning she amplifies magic and such. Richard Gansey is a rich boy with a magic voice. Ronan Lynch is a bad-rich boy who has magic dreams. Adam Parrish a poor-prep school boy who gets magic. Noah Czerny is a ghost. While I believe all of the main characters are white, the fandom collectively views Blue and Ronan as being POC (cause let's face it, they totally are, their solidarity goes further than friendship). I won't say who, but at least two of the characters are also queer. Later on, Henry Cheng is introduced to the bunch. He's probably queer and he's Asian. So canon POC in the main cast! (He just doesn't come in until the third book.)

The series has two main plots that are interwoven. The more prominent of the two has to do with a dead Welsh king who's rumoured to have been brought to America to be buried. That's not all, however. It's also believed that if you find him, he will awaken and grant you any wish. Rich boy Gansey has a knack for finding things others cannot, and his life's dream is to uncover Glendower. The other plot is a romantic one, though I won't say between who. These twin plots actually work very well together, and they don't overpower each other. It's really impressive, to be honest, and fully enjoyable.

I don't know how to truly get across just how much this series means to me. All I can say is that I cried at the end of the fourth book, and I felt like I'd just came out of something bigger than myself.

I'm not going to spend much time on the manga section this time because I've decided I want to talk about Nightmare Inspector.

Nightmare Inspector was written and drawn by Shin Mashiba. First and foremost, I adore the art. It's some of the most detailed art I've ever seen, if I'm honest. And while the eyes are a bit large for adult characters, it isn't a moe. (If it was, I wouldn't have read it.) I also really like the character designs as well as the personalities. It's been a while since I read the series -- it's only about nine volumes long -- so I don't remember their names, but the main character and his "rival" are beautiful, weird, and intriguing.

I genuinely don't know how to describe the plot. At first it seems like a bunch of unrelated vignettes: the main character lives at a tea house and helps people get over their nightmares. He also happens to eat the nightmares. As it goes on, however, you find out the connection he has with the owner of the tea house and her brother, what happened before he was what he is now, and his "rival" comes into play. It's kinda hard to follow, but I loved it nonetheless. I think I cried while reading it.

A warning: Nightmare Inspector can be pretty...Gorey in imagery. There's also a lot of mentions of abuse. Just be prepared for unsettling imagery and plot points.

So there're two series that made me cry! Good job guys.

Well,,,There it is. Bye.
